M4 closed at junction 14 for Hungerford for essential bridge repairs this evening
The M4 will be closed through part of West Berkshire this evening (Friday).
National Highways said the motorway will be shut, eastbound, at junction 14 for Hungerford from 9pm tonight for essential safety repairs.
A failed bridge joint is due to be repaired at the junction.
An ‘on and off’ closure will be in place, meaning traffic will leave the M4 via the junction 14 exit slip and immediately re-join using the entry slip.
Lane one and two will also be closed on the westbound carriageway between junction 14 and junction 15 at Swindon to allow National Highways to repair a road surface depression.
The agency is advising motorists to allow extra time for their journeys through those junctions.
Both closures are expected to be lifted by 6am tomorrow (Saturday).
