Earlier lorry fire on M4 Wiltshire causing delays of up to 50 minutes as lanes need resurfacing




UPDATE WEDNESDAY AM : THIS HAS NOW BEEN CLEARED.

Drivers on the M4 in Wiltshire are experiencing severe delays westbound between J16 (Swindon) and J17 (Chippenham) due to an earlier vehicle fire.

National Highways said that lanes one and two were closed and there were 5.7 miles of congestion this morning.

The fire caused "considerable damage" to the M4 and the hard shoulder and lane one need resurfacing. The work is not expected to be completed before 11pm this evening
