The articulated lorry overturned onto its side, at around 5am this morning, followed by a clean up of a spillage of bleach, hydraulic and diesel fuels leaked on the carriageway.

No major damage was sustained to the carriageway.

Fire services were called at 5.08am, with pumps from five Reading fire stations at the scene including Whitley Wood, Caversham Road, Dee Road (Tilehurst) and Wokingham Road, plus the heavy rescue unit from Dee Road.

No-one was trapped.

Problems for drivers on the M4 were compounded at 8am this morning after a car overturned between junction 8/9 Maidenhead and junction 10 Wokingham, and crashed into the central reservation.
