M4 fully re-opened between Hungerford and Swindon following lorry fire
Thames Valley Police (TVP) spokesman, Chris Kearney, confirmed the westbound lanes were fully re-opened at 11.45am.
The eastbound lanes reopened shortly after 10am.
Heavy tailbacks of traffic (pictured) currently (12.30pm) remain in both directions, according to police.
A full closure was put in place at 8.42am this morning, between junctions 14 and 15 of the motorway, due to smoke from the lorry, carrying a load of furniture.
The smoke drifting across the carriageway from the lorry, on fire on the hard shoulder, enforcing the motorway closure.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) spokeswoman, Ellie Gray, said two pumps from Newbury and Hungerford were called to the scene at 8.13am, before being joined by a third pump from Wiltshire to battle the blaze.
Firefighters left the scene at 10am.
