M4 lorry fire between Hungerford and Newbury causes delays
According to Nicole Targett of the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, three pumps, from Newbury, Hungerford and Whitley Wood, Reading, were called at 7.47am to the M4 between junctions 13 and 14 eastbound, after a lorry carrying steel framework caught fire.
Two firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hosereel to extinguish the blaze.
No-one was hurt and the incident was closed by the fire service at 8.49am.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman, Rhianne Pope, said police were called at 7.46am to the incident, after reports a lorry was on fire on the hard shoulder.
The Highways Agency confirmed two lanes of the motorway were closed initially, due to the incident. One lane was re-opened at 9.25am, with 30 minute delays.
Two lanes were gain closed at 11.15am during the recovery operation.
All lanes re-opened shortly after 1.30pm, with traffic flowing normally, according to the Highways Agency.
