TRAVEL NEWS: Highways England warns of disruption due to overnight closures on the M4 in Berkshire for smart motorway works

There will be closures on the M4 eastbound and westbound overnight, Thursday, September 9, with local diversions in place.

Highways England has said that the eastbound carriageway between Junction 12 (Theale) and Junction 11 (Reading) will be shut from 8pm to 6am.

At the same time, the M4 will also be shut in both directions between Junction 6 (Slough) to Junction 8/9 (Maidenhead).

The closures are necessary for works to be carried out on the smart motorway.
