M4 resurfacing starts tonight (Mon)
A two mile section of both carriageways at junction 13 will be resurfaced during four weeks of overnight work.
Lane closures and some slip road closures will be necessary for the work to be carried out safely.
Highways Agency project sponsor, Guy Watts, said: “Besides resurfacing we will also increase the skid resistance at this area and enhance the road markings, providing safer, smoother, journeys for road users.
“We are carrying out the work overnight, when traffic flows are lowest, to minimise disruption; it will start on the eastbound carriageway and then switch to the westbound, and one lane will remain open to traffic on the carriageway where work is taking place.”
The improvement work will start on the eastbound carriageway tonight (Mon).
It will continue until Friday, February 8 when it will switch to the westbound carriageway until Friday, February 22.
It will be carried out each night between 10pm and 6am.
While work is carried out, either the hard shoulder or lane three will be available for traffic, depending on the progress of work.
There will also be some slip road closures which, along with the associated diversions, will be clearly signed.
