Major Thatcham road may see better street lighting for cyclists

A major Thatcham road could see seven new street lights installed along its regularly used cycle lane.

West Berkshire Council received a request from the public for the lights to be installed on the 300 metre stretch of a cycleway that runs parallel with the A4 between Tull Way and Henwick Lane, adjacent to Henwick Playing Fields.

It said that the proposed "five metre column height and relatively low output lanterns" would make any negative impact on residents in the area unlikely.
