Major works to close the M4 for three nights
Works to start at 9pm tonight
Motorists using the M4 are being warned to plan ahead as overnight road closures are set to begin tonight (Wednesday).
A new bridge is being installed on the major route through Berkshire between junctions 10 and 11 near Reading, as part of the new Shinfield Eastern Relief Road.
As part of the works the road will be closed in both directions from 9pm until 6am tomorrow morning (Thursday).
The road will then shut again for a further two nights until Saturday morning.
The closure is to allow for the installation of the outer frame of the new bridge deck and barriers to protect the workforce during the construction.
The start of the works was delayed from December due to adverse weather.
A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3270 and A349 (M) during each of the three closures.
