Reading Magistrates’ Court: Calcot man accused of plot to steal £300,000 of tobacco from Tesco depot




A MAN has been accused of plotting to steal more than £300,000 worth of tobacco.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 7, was Piotr Mikowski.

The 46-year-old, of Holmwood Avenue, Calcot, is charged with conspiring with Grzegorz Kowalczyk and Tomasz Storc to steal tobacco products worth more than £300,000 from the Tesco depot in Reading between November 18, 2020 and February 4, 2021.

Magistrates sent the case to Reading Crown Court to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury on a date to be fixed.

Mr Mikowski was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
