Reading Magistrates’ Court: Thatcham man accused of racial harassment in Kingsclere
A MAN has been sent to the crown court charged with causing racial harassment.
James Cook appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 17.
The 29-year-old, of Spackman Close, Thatcham, is accused of using racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Kingsclere on November 19 last year with the intent to cause PC Thomas Cruickshank harassment, alarm or distress.
Magistrates told Mr Cook the case could proceed no further that day and sent it to Reading Crown Court to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury on a date to be fixed.
Mr Cook was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
