Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man admits assault

A MAN has been ordered to compensate his victim after assaulting him.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 7, was Steven Lloyd.

The 49-year-old, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted assaulting Haroon Mohammed by beating him in Newbury on Tuesday, March 1.

Mr Lloyd, who was legally represented by Joanne Benn, was made subject to an 18-month conditional discharge.

No order was made for costs because of his lack of means to pay.

However, Mr Lloyd was ordered to pay Mr Mohammed £75 compensation in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
