Thatcham man Jake Reid admits Newbury assault

A MAN has been ordered to pay compensation to the person he assaulted.

Jake Reid appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court last December 23.

The 28-year-old, of Dickson Glade, Thatcham, admitted assaulting Martin Yates by beating him in Newbury on March 28 last year.

Reid, who was legally represented by Robert Jacques, was made subject to a 12-month community order and fined £100.

In addition, district judge Samuel Goozee ordered him to pay £85 costs, plus £30 compensation to Mr Yates, in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
