Reading Magistrates' Court: man harassed Thatcham woman

A MAN has been sentenced for harassing a Thatcham woman.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 1, was Jack Deverell.

The 30-year-old, of Hungerford Lane, Bradfield Southend, admitted pursuing a course of conduct in Thatcham between April 10 and June 10, 2020, which amounted to the harassment of Sophia Memish.

Mr Deverell, who was legally represented at the hearing, was made subject to an 18-month community order.

As part of the order he was required to complete 40 hours unpaid community work and to attend a Building Better Relationships course.

In addition, Mr Deverell was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £95.

Finally, he was made subject to a 12-month restraining order.

This prevents him from contacting Ms Memish, either directly or indirectly, and from going to Pound Lane, Thatcham, and Nokes Hill, Ashampstead.
