Lambourn Woodlands man Paul Dobson admits stalking offence
A MAN accused of stalking a woman has changed his plea to guilty.
Paul Dobson appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 23.
At a previous court hearing the 48-year-old, of Ermin Street, Lambourn Woodlands, denied stalking a woman identified only as Ms Yates by making unwanted calls and sending messages to her; by seeking her in Chiseldon in the borough of Swindon, Wiltshire; by waving at her in Lambourn and by hugging her, having found her at an address in Hungerford.
The offence happened on various dates between January 1 and December 20 last year.
At Friday’s hearing, the court was told that Dobson had changed his mind and now formally admitted the offence.
A second charge, that of stalking Paul Marshall by looking for him in Chiseldon, by attending his home in the Hungerford postal area and by sending numerous messages to Mr Marshall in relation to his relationship with Ms Yates on various dates between January 1 and December 20 last year, was dismissed after the prosecution offered no evidence.
Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports.
They ordered these to be prepared with a community-based sentence in mind.
The sentencing hearing, currently scheduled for Friday, October 18, is expected to take around 30 minutes.
Dobson was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
One of the conditions was not to enter Chiseldon or the village of Eastbury.
