Man arrested and two people airlifted to hospital following M4 collision

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident on the M4 which took place between junctions 15 and 14 shortly before 12.20am and involved a car transporter, and Audi and a Ford Transit van.
The 32-year-old female driver of the Audi and the 22-year-old male passenger of the Transit were airlifted to Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, while the 22-year-old driver of the Transit was taken by ambulance to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
The Audi driver, who is from the Salisbury area, was described as being in a critical, but stable condition.
The passenger of the Transit, who is from the Hampshire area, suffered a fractured pelvis and numerous other injuries, but is in a stable condition.

The collision is being investigated by Pc Alan Hunt of the Serious Collision Investigation Team.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Pc Hunt on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.”
