Man arrested following attack at Newbury pub




Police appeal for witnesses to assault at Diamond Tap in Cheap Street

A 22-year-old man has been arrested following an assault at the Diamond Tap pub in Newbury in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 4).

The victim sustained facial injuries when he was attacked in the smoking area of the Diamond Tap public house, in Cheap Street at around 12.30am.

The 29-year-old was subsequently taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has any information about the incident.

The offender is aged between 20 and 25-years-old with hair that was longer on the top and shaved at the sides. He was wearing a black jumper and jeans.
