Man arrested after police called to incident in Kintbury

Thames Valley Police (TVP) arrested a man following reports of an argument in Church Street, Kintbury, on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred just after 7pm.

A Newbury resident was detained on the scene on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

Newburytoday previously reported on the major police presence in Kintbury on Wednesday evening, but had been given no further details from the force as that time.

In an email statement today (Friday), a TVP spokesperson said: "Thames Valley Police received reports of an argument on Church Street, Kintbury, at around 7.07pm on Wednesday, October 13.

"Officers attended and arrested a 24-year-old man from Newbury on suspicion of actual bodily harm. He has been released on bail.

"Investigations are currently ongoing."
