Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following Pangbourne stabbing
Four others also arrested in connection with the incident
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following reports of a stabbing in Pangbourne yesterday (Sun).
The 36-year-old man, from Reading, was arrested today (Mon) following the incident in Sulham Lane at around 1.30pm.
The victim, a 23-year-old man from Pangbourne, received injuries to his leg, eye and neck. He remains in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The injured victim was located by police six miles away in Weldale Street, Reading, a short time after the reported stabbing.
A 25-year-old from Tilehurst, Reading was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent yesterday in connection with the incident.
A 50-year-old man and a 42-year-old man, both from Reading, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 24-year-old man from Pangbourne was arrested today, also on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A fifth man, a 23-year-old from Pangbourne, Reading was arrested today for conspiracy to commit GBH.
Det Insp Stuart Bosley from Force CID in Newbury, said: “I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and we do not believe it was a random attack."
