Man assaulted and robbed in Tilehurst
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which happened at around 10.50pm on Saturday, June 16.
The 36-year-old victim had been walking along Hildens Drive when he was approached by a man who walked alongside him.
The victim’s phone rang and after finishing the call he received a blow to the back of his head with an unknown object causing him to fall to the ground. The offender then took the victim’s phone and ran off towards Overdown Road.
The offender is described as white, mid twenties, approximately 5ft 8ins, and of medium build with cropped dark hair. He was wearing a light coloured, short sleeved top with dark jeans. He had a distinctive Northern Irish accent.
The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence, recognises the description of the offender, or who saw the offender in the area around the time of the incident.
