Thatcham man Michael Brown assaulted police




A MAN has been ordered to compensate a police officer he assaulted.

On Thursday, November 23, Michael Brown appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court.

The 39-year-old, of Cedar Grove, Thatcham, admitted assaulting PC James Collins by beating him in Reading on November 1 last year.

Mr Brown, who was legally represented by Gianpaolo Damiani at the hearing, was fined £125.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £40 costs.

Finally, in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge, Mr Brown was ordered to pay PC Collins £25 compensation.
