Man attacked in Newbury alley after refusing to hand over cash
The victim was punched in the head and face after refusing to hand money over to the attacker, who struck while the 32-year-old man and his wife were walking along the alleyway at the rear of the hostel on London Road, Newbury at around 5.15pm.
The offender stopped his attack when two people entered the alleyway, and he ran off in the direction of the Robin Hood roundabout, Newbury.
The victim sustained a small cut to his lower lip and bruising to his head.
The offender is white, about 5ft 8ins, clean shaven, and 20 to 25 years old, and was wearing a light coloured baseball cap and ash grey tracksuit bottoms that hung down at the back.
