Man attacked in Newbury road rage incident
The incident happened at about midday on Friday (July 27) at the Hambridge Road junction of the A4 Bath Road.
The victim, a 42-year old man, was driving along the A4 from Newbury towards Thatcham.
He noticed a light blue car, which he had overtaken earlier, stop at traffic lights.
The two occupants of the light blue car then got out of the vehicle to confront the victim.
During the altercation the victim was assaulted in the middle of the road.
Two passing drivers, both men, intervened, resulting in the offenders leaving the scene and driving off towards Thatcham.
The offenders are both described as white and about 18-years-old.
The first man is described as stocky with short pale blonde spiked hair. He was wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
The second offender is of slim build with short dark hair and a thin goatee beard. He was wearing a light yellow t-shirt,
Thames Valley Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident at the traffic light junction, particularly the two drivers who stopped to assist.
Investigating officer, PC Nicky Alexander said: “The victim was not injured, but this was a violent and unprovoked assault in front of members of the public.”
