There, the 26-year-old, of Dickens Walk, on The Nightingales estate in Greenham, admitted sexually assaulting a female child in the Newbury postal region on a specific date last year.

Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports.

They stipulated these should be prepared on an ‘all options’ basis, including custody.

They also warned that they reserved their right to send the matter to be dealt with by a judge sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed should they deem their own powers of punishment were insufficient.

Mace was meanwhile released on conditional bail and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
