Newbury man Christopher Denton caught driving after taking ketamine




A MOTORIST has been banned from the roads for drug-driving.

Christopher Denton appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 26.

The 36-year-old, of Green Lane, Newbury, admitted being in charge of a Fiat Punto at the One Stop shop in Kiln Road, Newbury, on Wednesday, March 22, when the proportion of the Class B-controlled drug ketamine, a dissociative anaesthetic with psychedelic properties, in his system exceeded the specified limit.

Mr Denton, who was legally represented at the hearing by Paul Cantrill, was made subject to a 12-month community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.

Finally, Mr Denton was banned from driving for two years.
