Reading Magistrates' Court: Thatcham man changes plea on assault charge

A MAN who denied attacking a woman has changed his plea.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 11, was Ryan Murphy.
The 20-year-old, of Mount Road, Thatcham, initially pleaded not guilty to assaulting Bethany Money by beating her in Kintbury on July 4, 2020.
But he admitted the offence at the latest court hearing.
Mr Ryan was fined £54 and made subject to an 18-month community order.
No order for costs was made but he was ordered to pay a statutory victim services surcharge of £95.
Finally, the court made Mr Murphy subject to an 18-month restraining order designed to prevent him from contacting Ms Money either directly or indirectly and from going to any address he knows or believes she is living at.
