Burghclere man charged after woman is stabbed in Reading

A Burghclere man has been charged after a woman was stabbed in Reading.

George Hassall, 22, of Harts Lane, was charged with one count of Section 18 wounding with intent last Thursday.

The charge relates to a report of an 18-year-old woman being stabbed on Wensley Road, Reading, at around 2pm last Wednesday.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since been discharged.

Hassall was remanded in custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday and is next due to appear at Reading Crown Court on January 7, 2022.
