Philip Harris, 39, of Woodlands Road, charged following incident in Baughurst




A man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Baughurst.

Police were called at 4.12pm on Saturday, February 1, to a report that a man and woman had been threatened on Woodlands Road.

It was reported that a man had banged on a door at an address on Woodlands Road, made threats and claimed he had a knife.

Officers attended the scene and a man resisted arrest. Two officers were assaulted.

A knife was seized and a man was arrested at the scene.

Philip Harris, 39, of Woodlands Road, Baughurst, has since been charged with threat to damage/destroy property, three counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour, two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker and possessing a knife blade/sharp-pointed article in a public place.

Mr Harris has been bailed with conditions and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday May 20.
