Man charged with attempted murder after Tilehurst incident

Police officers were called to a property in Grafton Road, Tilehurst shortly before 7.30pm, to reports that a woman in her fifties had been attacked with an unknown bladed weapon.
She sustained injuries to her right arm, head and back and is currently in a stable condition at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.
A man was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of assault by beating.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (19/8).
