Reading Magistrates' Court: Tilehurst man denies Newbury and Thatcham station bike thefts




A MAN has been accused of stealing bicycles together worth £1,050 from railway stations at Thatcham and at Newbury Racecourse.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 29, was Martin David Judd.

The 35-year-old, of Kentwood Hill, Tilehurst, is charged with stealing a pedal cycle worth £300 belonging to Andrew Green from Thatcham rail station on Wednesday, June 29.

He is further charged with stealing a bicycle worth £500 belonging to Christopher Eeles at the same railway station on Tuesday, July 5.

Finally, Mr Judd is accused of stealing a pedal cycle worth £250 belonging to Andrew Challinor from Newbury Racecourse rail station on Friday, September 2.

Mr Judd, who was legally represented at the hearing, spoke only to confirm his details and to deny all three charges.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and all three matters were adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Judd was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
