Fourth person charged by Thames Valley Police in connection with the death of a man in Tilehurst on Hallowe'en




A fourth person has been charged in connection with the death of a man in Tilehurst on Hallowe'en.

Tuviah Thompson-Hordle, aged 18, of Brant Close, Arborfield, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).

Thames Valley Police officers were called to reports of a stabbing in Romany Lane at around 10.40pm on Halloween.

The victim, who died at the scene, has been formally identified as 22-year-old Reece Heffernan from Tilehurst. A post-mortem examination has concluded that the cause of death was a stab wound to his chest.

This is the seventh arrest in the investigation.

A 17-year-old boy from Earley - who cannot be named for legal reasons - and Hamzah Ahmed, aged 18, of Jubilee Road, Reading, have each been charged with one count of murder.

Umer Arshad, aged 23, of Waterloo Road, Wokingham, has been charged with one count of perverting the course of justice.

They have all appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court and are scheduled to appear at Reading Crown Court today (Monday).

A 29-year-old man and two 19-year-old men, all from Reading, arrested on suspicion of murder have now been released under investigation.
