Newbury man charged with several burglary and fraud offences in Hungerford and Newbury




A man has been charged with several burglary and fraud offences following incidents in Hungerford and Newbury.

The charges follow an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

Michael Phillipson, 56, of Newtown Road, Newbury, was charged with two counts of business burglary and seven counts of fraud by false representation yesterday (Tuesday).

The charges relate to incidents at the Funghi Club, in Hungerford, on April 18 and the Westbrook House Dental Practice, in Newbury, on April 13.

A man entered these premises to steal wallets, money and a purse, before using stolen cards to make numerous purchases.

Mr Phillipson is due to appear before Reading Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday).
