The 47-year-old, of Crookham Common Road, Brimpton, had been charged with repeatedly engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour towards his victim which he knew would have a serious affect on her between January 1, 2016, and January 31 this year.

Next, Mr Holden-Taylor faced a charge of assaulting by beating and one of common assault in Brimpton in January.

Reading magistrates sent the case to Reading Crown Court to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury.

On Monday, July 22, Holden-Taylor pleaded guilty to the assault charges.

The prosecution barrister said that, in light of those admissions, the other charges would be withdrawn.

Judge Heather Norton made Mr Holden-Taylor subject to a 12 month conditional discharge.

No order was made for costs but he was ordered to pay a statutory victim services surcharge of £26.
