Newbury man Cedric Clarke convicted of making threats
A MAN has been ordered to do unpaid work for making threats.
Cedric Clarke appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 6.
The 32-year-old, of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, denied using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to make a person fear unlawful violence would be used against them on January 13 last year.
But he was convicted following a trial.
Clarke also denied assaulting Nancy Mennell by beating her on the same occasion, and this charge was dismissed.
He was made subject to a 12-month community order and required to complete 60 hours of unpaid community work.
In addition, Clarke was ordered to pay £150 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.
