Man cut out of car near Aldworth by firefighters





Watch Manager of Green Watch at Tilehurst Fire Station, Mark Jones, said two pumps were called at 11.30pm, including one from Tilehurst and another from Pangbourne, after a Rover car collided with a tree on the B4009, between Streatley and Aldworth.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the doors and part of the car.
A man, who was slipping in and out of consciousness, according to firefighters, was then removed from the car and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters left the scene at 1.15am.
UPDATE 10.15am Tues
South Central Ambulance Service have confirmed the man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
A doctor was at the scene, along with an ambulance and rapid response vehicle and at 11.34pm on Monday.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman, Rebecca Webber, said police were called at 11.38pm, following reports a red Rover 124 SI had left the carriageway on Streatley Hill
The driver, from Didcot - the only occupant of the car - was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with a head injury.
The road was closed at 12.15am at the junction of Stitchens Green and Aldworth and was reopened once the car had been recovered at 1.10am.
