Reading Magistrates' Court: Man denies assault

A MAN is set for trial on a charge of assault.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 13, was Edmilson Miranda Coeldo Da Silva.

The 27-year-old, of Cresswell Road, Newbury, is accused of assaulting Jack Gale by beating him in Friar Street, Reading, on Sunday, June 12.

Mr Da Silva, who was legally represented at the brief hearing, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and it was adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Da Silva was meanwhile granted conditional bail.
