Scott Laurie from Newbury denies assault

A MAN is to go on trial charged with assault.

Scott Laurie appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 24.

The 36-year-old, of Mandarin Drive, Newbury, is accused, jointly with others, assaulting Sean Sheils in Newbury on June 19 last year.

Mr Laurie spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Laurie was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
