Philip Lomax from Compton denies assault

A MAN is to go on trial charged with assaulting a young person.

Philip Lomax appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 10.

The 46-year-old, of Fairfield, Compton, is accused of assaulting the young person, who can not be identified by virtue of their age, by beating them in Compton on a specific date earlier this year.

Mr Lomax spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

District judge Davinder Sandhu told him the case could proceed no further that day and she adjourned it for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Lomax was meanwhile released on conditional bail.
