Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man denies assault charge

A NEWBURY man has denied a charge of assault.

On Wednesday, September 8, Reading magistrates held a preliminary hearing into the case against Gavin Richard Hicks.

The 49-year-old, who lives at Kennet Place, is accused of assaulting Christian Gough by beating him in Newbury on Friday, February 5.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Mr Hicks was further charged with failing to surrender to bail at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 25.

Magistrates adjourned the case until a later date and meanwhile granted Mr Hicks conditional bail.
