Jordan Hayman from Thatcham denies assaulting woman in Newbury

A MAN is to go on trial charged with assaulting a woman.

Jordan Hayman appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 19.

The 31-year-old, of Horne Road, Thatcham, is accused of assaulting Toni Cassel by beating her in Newbury on Monday, August 4.

He is also charged with assaulting a police officer by beating them on the same occasion.

Mr Hayman, who was legally represented by Nathaniel Ikeazor, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to both charges.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

District judge Samuel Goozee meanwhile released Mr Hayman on unconditional bail.
