Newbury man Kieron Mayo denies making violent threat
A MAN has denied threatening to beat a rival “black and blue”.
Kieron Mayo appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 10.
The 31-year-old, of Gaywood Drive, Newbury, is charged with sending a grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message via social media in Newbury on September 20, 2023.
Specifically, Mr Mayo is said to have stated: “I wanna know what your man said about me thinking it was me he was talking to.
“Cus I swear to god if he said anything to me I will come and find him and I won’t leave until he’s black and blue.”
Mr Mayo, who was legally represented, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.
He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be arranged for a trial to be prepared.
Mr Mayo was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
