Newbury man Christopher Hamilton denies sending offensive message




A MAN is to go on trial accused of sending a grossly offensive electronic message.

Christopher Hamilton appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 7.

The 58-year-old, of New Cottages, Stanmore, Beedon, is accused of sending an electronic message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character in Newbury on Tuesday, October 17.

Mr Hamilton spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Hamilton was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
