The 41-year-old, of St John’s Court, off Old Newtown Road, Newbury, is accused of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of Natalie Cox by sending her multiple, unwanted messages, voice notes, videos, Instagram and YouTube links between April 16, 2023, and January 1 this year.

Mr Lester, who was legally represented by Paul Gilmartin, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to take place.

District judge Davinder Sandhu meanwhile released Mr Lester on conditional bail.
