Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man denies threatening behaviour




A MAN is to go on trial accused of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 2, was Paul Williams.

The 31-year-old, of Glendale Avenue, Newbury, is accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Reading on Monday, January 16.

Mr Williams, who was legally represented by Robert Jaques, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and it was adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Williams was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
