Reading Magistrates' Court: Mortimer man accused of threatening to kill cat
A MAN has appeared in court charged with threatening to kill a woman's cat.
The alleged threat was said to have been part of a campaign of harassment and threats perpetrated against her.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Saturday, October 15, was Robert Hearn.
The 33-year-old, of College Piece, Mortimer, stands accused of threatening to Fiona Nelson that he would kill her cat and cause damage to a trampoline belonging to her.
He is further charged with harassing her and causing her to fear violence by contacting her more than 100 times by phone, making threats.
The above offences were said to have been carried out in Mortimer on various dates between Monday, September 12, and Thursday, October 13.
Mr Hearn, who was legally represented by Gianpaolo Damiani, spoke only to confirm his details and to deny both charges.
He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that both matters would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.
Mr Hearn was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
