A MAN is to go on trial for assaulting and intimidating a woman.
Antony Hansen appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 5.
The 34-year-old, of Wormstall, Wickham, is accused of assaulting his victim by beating her in Newbury, on Saturday, March 30.
He is further charged with causing criminal damage by destroying a door lock and Ring doorbell belonging to the same victim in Newbury on Friday, August 2.
Finally, Mr Hansen is charged with using aggressive or insulting words or behaviour towards the same victim with the intent to cause her harassment, alarm or distress in Cheap Street, Newbury, on Monday, July 29.
Mr Hansen, who was legally represented at the hearing by Heulwen Everton, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to all three charges.
He was told the case could proceed no further that day and would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.
District judge Samuel Goozee meanwhile released him on bail with conditions.
