Brian McGowan from Thatcham denies triple assault and knife offence

A MAN is to go on trial charged with assaulting three people and having a lock knife.

Brian McGowan appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 18.

The 38-year-old, of Longcroft Road, Thatcham, is charged with assaulting Malik Mahmood, Ann Killick and a male identified only as Wayne, by beating them.

He is further accused of possessing a lock knife.

All the above offences were said to have happened in Reading on October 4.

Mr McGowan, who was legally represented by Gianpaolo Damiani, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to all the charges.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr McGowan was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
