The male driver of the Newbury and District bus was airlifted by the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance yesterday after what Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Rhianne Pope described as a “medical episode.”
Miss Pope confirmed that the man died at the John Radcliffe hospital yesterday evening but that police were not investigating the cause of the accident.
The accident happened around 1:23pm on an unnamed road near Snelsmore Farm, close to the A34 turn for Curridge and Chieveley Services. There were no passengers on the bus at the time.
The bus was on contract to West Berkshire Council.
