Snelsmore Common residents alerted after foiled attempt to remove gate hinges

SNELSMORE Common residents are alerted to be on their guard, after a man was recently disturbed while trying to remove the hinges off a gate.

According to Thames Valley Police, at around 4.50pm, on Monday, January 9, a caller from Snelsmore Common reported that they had disturbed a man attempting to remove hinges from a gate. The man made off along the common when confronted.

The man was described as white, in his mid 40's, approximately 6ft with a lean build and pale complexion.

He was wearing rimless, or thin rimmed glasses and a red puffer jacket with dark trousers tucked into Wellington boots.

He was also wearing a light coloured base ball cap with a dark peak and was carrying a red or blue fabric carrier bag containing tools.
