Bishops Green man Finlay Williams faces assault and motoring charges
A MAN is facing a catalogue of public order and motoring offences.
Reading magistrates held a preliminary hearing into the case against Finlay Williams on Wednesday, October 25.
The 22-year-old, of Eagle Road, Bishops Green, is accused of one offence of common assault on Ian Passey and one of assaulting Mr Passey by beating him.
He is further accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Next, Mr Williams is charged with driving a black Ford Fiesta on Bone Lane after drinking more than the legal limit.
Tests are said to have shown 94mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – almost three times the legal limit of 35mcg.
Finally, he is accused of driving without due care and attention on the same occasion.
All the above offences are said to have been committed in Newbury on Thursday, September 21.
Magistrates adjourned all matters until a future date, when Mr Williams will be expected to attend and to enter pleas to the charges.
